Darcie has always been compelled by the sublime, surreal qualities in art that invoke emotion, and her work leans into those qualities.
Knowing she wanted to be an artist from a young age, she began her professional development as a painter after earning a BA in studio arts. Finding herself drawn to the uniquely personal expression of tattoos, she began her tattooing apprenticeship at Temple Painter Tattoo in the summer of 2023.
She sees tattooing as a collaboration between artist and client, and she is humbled and honored every time she gets to develop a design that someone will carry with them forever. She hopes to contribute to the welcoming environment at Temple Painter Tattoo by cultivating a safe space for clients to collaborate with her on meaningful, unique works of art.
Darcie draws extensively from both fine art and folk art, often incorporating natural elements in her work. Her designs fall under the broad category of neo-traditional style.
